It is for
It is for you why I stand
And upon my heart lay my hand
For the freedom you defended,
the colors you protected,
and the troubles you faced
all happened so I may be here
For not all heroes wear capes
No, they wear so much more
You wear the heart of America
You wear the ribbons of freedom
And the beret of life
You defend the colors in which I so believe
I believe in the red that represents strength and valor
I believe in the white that represents purity
I believe in the blue that represents reverence in God
You fought for my freedom
for which I am eternally grateful
Because of you,
there is liberty and justice for all
Because of you,
we all get to live in the Land of the Free,
and the Home of the Brave
